Great news! Last week my Dj friends André Amaral and Icarodátilus invited me to participate on their weekly radio show at Radio Gruta. I prepared a special short set and went there to say a few words about my work as a Dj – and the show went so well that I am gonna host my own show there in the next few weeks!
The show is gonna be called “Electric panties”, to celebrate the presence of a woman – me, PunkAss – among the testosterone dominated group of what is nowadays Radio Gruta. I’m gonna be bringing the best of all genres electronic music (well, not aaaaall of them, but the ones I like the most and understand more about), and I will be showing the work of Djs and producers from all over the world, with Dj sets and interviews.
There won’t be a lot of talking, but I’ll be speaking in portuguese most of the times except in the interviews with djs from abroad, since the radio is from Rio de Janeiro and it focuses on the local crowd. But we have an online chat for whoever wants to participate during the show in any other language – any other language I can understand, of course…
Radio Gruta is now investing on re-branding and promoting itself, and improving the streaming quality of its shows. It will also record each show, making them available for download in good quality (at least 128kbps). The new identity will be made by me, Coral Michelin, and other designers of the Radio, and will be launched with a big party in the beginning of September.
Djs and producers are invited to send me their releases and link to sets. The interviews with people outside Rio de Janeiro will be made through skype – nice and easy. I’m looking for all sub-genres of Techno, House, Electro, Minimal, and some sub-genres of psychedelic trance (no Full on, no Goa). Feel free to send your stuff to coralinlondon at hotmail dot com.
